Steve Reeves IS Hercules!

Steve Reeves and George Eiferman by Bruce of LA

Steve may be the classic muscleman of all time, but George Eiferman is so my cup of tea!

(By the way, this shot is from the 1949 Mr. USA contest, in which Steve placed 3rd and George was 4th [but 1st in my heart!])

Steve Reeves -- by Russ Warner?

Classic muscle posing to close out the night (and the month!).

These two 4x5's recently sold at eBay auction for $68 a piece without any kind of identification from the seller. They sure look like Steve Reeves to me, and I'm putting my further two cents in and attribute them to Russ Warner.

Steve Reeves, John Grimek and Andre Drapp by Arax

A very nice competition shot from the 1948 Mr. Universe contest by France's leading physique photographer Gregor Arax. John Grimek was the overall winner, with Steve Reeves placing second and Andre Drapp in third. It looks like Andre thought he should have won, as he tries to claim a piece of the winner's podium. Maybe it was a bit of fun for his fellow-countryman's lens. In any case, John Grimek is taking it in (slightly blurry) stride...
